UNICEF warns of risks of 'safe zones' in Gaza

United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund spokesperson James Elder once again criticized the "safe zones" in Gaza in an audio message posted on X, saying that they could pose a risk of "disease and human suffering."

Elder warned that these "safe areas", which Israel earlier proposed to be defined, "are tiny patches of barren land with no water, no facilities, no shelter ... no sanitation."

He explained that for "safe zones to be safe," by law, they must have water, food, shelter, as well as medical supplies. He added that it is unrealistic to expect "hundreds of thousands of people" to continue relocating again and again in the middle of the war.
