Israel approves outline of Tekuma Authority plan

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office announced in a Facebook post on Sunday the approval of the outline of a multi-year plan for the Tekuma Authority.

The Tekuma Authority was established in the area adjacent to the Gaza Strip at the beginning of the Israeli-Palestine conflict, in an effort to "rebuild" and "develop" communities. The plan is an infrastructure and broad budget framework for five years, 2024-2028, of up to 18 billion Israeli new shekels ($4.8 billion).

"We are building and investing in our communities. In the area adjacent to the Gaza Strip, at the start of the war, we established the 'Tekuma Authority'. We provided a massive budget to rebuild the communities and to ensure that nobody will be left behind. We are engaged not just in rebuilding the cities, the rural communities, and the local and regional councils, but that they will flourish and prosper for generations and surpass what was," Netanyahu stated.
