NHTSA recalls 142,000 Ford Lincoln over fire risks
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced on Friday that Ford is recalling over 142,000 Lincoln vehicles manufactured between 2015 and 2019 due to potential fire hazards in the engines.
Ford has identified a potential issue with the 12-volt battery monitor sensor, which could result in a short circuit, overheating, and subsequent fires even when the vehicle is not in use. As a precautionary measure, owners of the affected vehicles are advised to park their cars outside until the problem is resolved.
Starting from June 26, affected owners will receive notifications to visit their local Ford dealerships, where a fuse will be added to the battery monitor sensor power circuit to address the risk. The recall comes after Ford received 19 reports of fires possibly linked to this issue across the United States, Canada, and China.
