Nishimura says Suga told him to aid recovery without hesitation

Japan's Minister of Economic Revitalization Yasutoshi Nishimura (pictured) said on Thursday the newly appointed head of government, Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, instructed him not to hesitate in taking steps towards helping the economy recover from the coronavirus pandemic.

Nishimura revealed Suga had also told him to take the necessary action to protect people's jobs and keep companies in business, adding he is determined to prevent Japan from returning to deflation.

Commenting on economic data, Nishimura said the pace of falls in exports is slowing, while private consumption is seemingly improving in September, despite being weak July through August.
