No. 10: No plans to make vaccination mandatory

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is not planning to make vaccinations against COVID-19 mandatory in the United Kingdom, his spokesperson said on Friday.

"We've set out our policy on this, and we've said it's not something that we would look to introduce," the spokesperson told reporters. "Our priority is to continue to promote vaccinations and promote boosters now that we are rolling out more and more boosters to more and more people."

Earlier in the day, Minister without Portfolio Oliver Dowden remarked the government believes the measures it has introduced are sufficient to combat the spread of the new strain of the virus, Omicron, and told the public to "keep calm and carry on with your Christmas plans."
