No document that pipeline can be returned amid sanctions - Gazprom

Russian Gazprom announced on Wednesday on its Telegram channel that the company has still not received any official document from Siemens according to which the return of its turbine, which was being repaired in Canada, would be legal in current terms, meaning sanctions on Russia due to its operation in Ukraine.

Gazprom once more reiterated that the situation around the turbine is directly affecting its gas transit to Europe. The news comes following the surge of European gas caused by information that the company supplied a record-high gas delivery to China on July 19. ''Gazprom is currently delivering supplies in excess of the daily contract quantities,'' Gazprom wrote on Telegram.

Earlier in the day, the German cabinet stated it hopes that the Russian oil and gas giant will continue with its gas supplies once the issue around its Nord Stream pipeline is resolved. Previously, Russian media Kommerssant had reported that the turbine was sent to Germany on July 17.
