Norway: Pfizer reducing vaccine deliveries to Europe

As of next week, the number of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines will be reduced in comparison to initial expectations, Norway's National Institute of Public Health (NIPH) Director of Infection Prevention and Control Geir Bukholm said on Friday.

"We received this message today a little before 10 o'clock. We were supposed to get 43,875 vaccine doses from Pfizer in week 3. Now it seems that we will get 36,075 doses," Bukholm explained.

The change will affect all European countries and came as a result of Pfizer's wishes to reorganize its production capacities so that they can make 2 billion doses per year instead of 1.3 billion doses per year. However, the company pointed out its deliveries in late February and March would be significantly higher than planned.
