NSW to relax air travel restrictions in October

New South Wales (NSW) Premier Gladys Berejiklian revealed on Monday that the Australian state will relax air travel restrictions once its COVID-19 vaccination coverage reaches 80%, "which is likely to be the third or fourth week of October." The international arrivals cap will be increased to 3,500 per week, the level NSW set before the Delta variant spread through Australia.

In accordance with the reopening plans, Australia's largest airline Qantas Airways Ltd. announced it will reinforce routes within NSW to around 40% of pre-pandemic levels from October 25, as well as restart flights between NSW and Victoria on November 5. International flights are currently scheduled to restart from December 18.
