Nvidia posts Q4 revenue at $3.11B

Nvidia Corp. announced on Thursday its revenue for the fourth quarter in fiscal 2019 amounted to $3.11 billion, up 41 percent from $2.21 billion a year earlier. At the same time, net income rose to $950 million. Diluted earnings per share reached $1.53 in Q4, up 66% year-on-year. Operating expenses were increased by 12% to $1.03 billion while operating income grew 237% to $990 million year-on-year.

The tech company said its GPU Business made a revenue of $2.77 billion, increasing 40% on an annual basis. Its Tegra Processor Business revenue reached a figure of $331 million. By market platform, the biggest revenue was recorded in the Gaming, which amounted to $1.49 billion, 56% higher year over year.

"Adoption of NVIDIA accelerated computing drove excellent results, with record data center revenue," company chief executive Jensen Huang said. "NVIDIA RTX ray tracing is reinventing computer graphics, driving powerful adoption across gaming, VR and design markets, while opening new opportunities in rendering and cloud gaming. NVIDIA AI is enabling breakthroughs in language understanding, conversational AI and recommendation engines ― the core algorithms that power the internet today. And new NVIDIA computing applications in 5G, genomics, robotics and autonomous vehicles enable us to continue important work that has a great impact. We are well-positioned for the greatest technology trends of our time."

Nvidia shares were up 6.6% in the after-market trading after the financial report was published.
