Oil prices continue to slide in Syria strike aftermath

Crude prices continued to drop on Monday amid escalating tensions in the Middle East after the United States, the United Kingdom, and France launched over 100 missiles at several locations in Syria, targeting alleged chemical weapons facilities in the country. The attack was a direct response to the suspected chemical weapons attack in Douma the previous weekend, which left dozens of civilians dead in the last rebel-held enclave in Syria.

Brent for June settlements lost 1.50% to go for $71.63 per barrel at 5:56 pm CET, while West Texas Intermediate for May delivery tumbled 1.37% to sell for $66.44 per barrel at 5:58 pm CET.
