Only 27% of Americans support tax cut law - poll

Just 27% of United States citizens think the tax cut law passed last year is "a good idea," compared to 30% in January, an NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll reported. 36% of surveyed Americans call it a bad idea, while the rest are undecided. In addition, 39% think a stronger economy will have a positive impact, while 53% said "higher deficits and disproportionate benefits for the wealthy and big corporations" will result in a negative impact.

Ahead of the midterm elections in November, the poll showed that Democrats have a seven-point advantage over Republicans. This data is in agreement with an earlier survey done by CNN, which gave Democrats a six-point edge. The poll also found 39% of Americans approve of President Donald Trump's job performance, while 57% disapprove.
