OpenAI: Outage hasn't exposed credit card data
OpenAI, the organization behind AI-powered chatbot ChatGPT, asserted on Friday that the credit card numbers of users on its platform were not exposed during the recent outage.
"In the hours before we took ChatGPT offline on Monday, it was possible for some users to see another active user's first and last name, email address, payment address, the last four digits (only) of a credit card number, and credit card expiration date ... We believe the number of users whose data was actually revealed to someone else is extremely low," OpenAI noted in a blog post on its website.
The organization said that it is confident there are no ongoing risks to users' data, and that it remains committed to protecting the privacy of its users by keeping their data safe.
