Orban: Ukraine ceasefire can take months or years
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on Thursday that it is necessary to achieve an immediate armistice in the Ukraine conflict, but admitted that the process may take a long time.
"There is no need to complicate matters, an immediate ceasefire is needed, after which peace talks should begin instantly, but this could take months or even years," the prime minister's press secretary Bertalan Havasi quoted him as saying.
The secretary also passed on Orban's thoughts on the current political situation in Europe, stating that it is "often difficult for European leaders to recognize and articulate the continent's own interests" at this time.
