Over 30,000 protest against Israel's nation-state law

Over 30,000 people took to the streets of Tel Aviv to protest against Israel's law which defines the country as a "nation-state" of Jews, Israeli state media reported.

According to media reports, the crowd consisted Arab Israelis, joined by Jewish Israelis who oppose the law. The protesters voiced opposition to "apartheid" and called for "equality" of all Israeli citizens.

In July, Israel passed a legislation which defines the country as a "nation-state" of Jews. The move sparked outrage in Palestine, as it announced plans to ask the United Nations to introduce sanctions against Israel for violating the UN Charter. Last week, the Druze community in Israel also staged protests against the controversial legislation.
