Pat Cipollone said to become new WH counsel

Pat Cipollone, a litigator from Washington is set to replace Don McGahn as the new White House counsel, Axios reported on Saturday citing four sources familiar with the sensitive internal conversations. Cipollone, described by one of the sources as a "true believer" and a "big Trump supporter," is reportedly already filing necessary documentation for the position. "He's a respected Washington litigator," the source said. "He's not one of the big names in the Washington Republican Bar, but he's respected."

Don McGahn, famous for his alleged refusal to carry out US President Donald Trump's order and fire Special Counsel Robert Mueller, announced in August that he will be leaving the White House in fall, after the confirmation of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. However, it was reported at the time that McGahn recommended Emmet Flood, a former adviser to presidents George Bush and Bill Clinton, as his replacement.
