Pelosi 'certain' relief bill will get bipartisan support

Addressing the media on Thursday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi described the ongoing coronavirus pandemic as "a tragedy not seen in over 100 years" in the United States, noting however that she is "certain" the $2 trillion relief bill would get "strong bipartisan support" in the House tomorrow.

"The first two bills were about addressing the emergency directly," the speaker stressed, whereas the third is about "mitigating" the impact of the COVID-19 crisis.

Commenting on Democrats' interventions to the legislative text, Pelosi said that they turned the bill from a "trickle-down Republican version" to a "bubble-up Democrat version" of the bill that puts American workers and their families first.
