Pentagon reviews Elon Musk's security clearance - report

The United States Department of Defense is reviewing Tesla Inc. Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk's security clearance after the executive's public marijuana usage on Joe Rogan's podcast, Bloomberg reported on Thursday, citing a US government official familiar with the matter. Musk reportedly resubmitted his SF-86 form which requires him to acknowledge any potential illegal drug use in the past seven years, Bloomberg's Tom Randall said on his Twitter account. Musk got a high-level clearance as he is the chief executive of SpaceX, a company licensed to launch military satellites.

The news comes shortly after US Security Exchange Commission attorney's stated that Musk could be suspended as Tesla chief executive officer after the was requested to submit to court by March 11 and explain why he should not be held in contempt for breaching his September settlement with the SEC. The commission demanded Musk be held in contempt for tweeting inaccurate Tesla production figures.
