Perdue won't run for Georgia Senate seat
Following initial speculation he would run for a Senate seat in 2022, former Georgia Senator David Perdue announced on Tuesday his decision to not enter the race next year.
"This is a personal decision, not a political one. I am confident that whoever wins the Republican Primary next year will defeat the Democrat candidate in the General election for this seat, and I will do everything I can to make that happen," Perdue said in a statement.
Earlier this month, Perdue filed the necessary paperwork for a potential run against Senator Raphael Warnock in the 2022 midterms elections.
