Peskov: Putin to visit China, but not N. Korea
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit China soon but will not travel to North Korea yet.
Peskov stressed that the timing of Putin's China trip has been agreed and will be communicated at a later date, while Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will visit Pyongyang in October. The date of Lavrov's trip is yet to be agreed upon and Peskov ruled out the possibility of Putin traveling with the top diplomat to North Korea.
After North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's recent trip to Russia, media reported that the Russian president accepted an invitation to visit Pyongyang but the Kremlin insisted the planning of such a trip is still ongoing.
