Peskov: Russia won't supply gas for free

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated on Friday that Russia would not supply gas to anyone for free.

"We do not have information about all the companies Gazprom has contracts with. This is not our prerogative; you have to ask Gazprom for details, of course. But it is clear that no one will supply anything for free," Peskov told a press conference.

Peskov's remarks come after Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak warned on Thursday that the situation in the energy market in Europe could worsen in 2023 as Moscow supplies it with around 4 million barrels per day (bpd).
