Pfizer shot 93% effective in 12-18 year olds - study

The COVID-19 vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech was shown to be 93% effective in preventing hospitalizations among adolescents aged between 12 and 18 years, according to a study published on Tuesday by the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

173 COVID-19 patients weren't vaccinated out of 179 infected minors who suffered symptoms in total, with 43% ending in intensive care and 16% getting critically ill. Commenting on the results, CDC scientists noted that "these data suggest that increasing vaccination coverage among this group could reduce the incidence of severe COVID-19 in the US."
