Pfizer's net income surges fourfold to $3.4 billion in Q4
Pfizer Inc. announced on Tuesday its revenue for the fourth quarter of 2021 at $23.8 billion, jumping 105% compared to the same quarter in 2020. The diluted earnings per share (EPS) soared from $0.15 in Q4 2020 to $0.59 in Q4 2021, while net income grew from $847 million to $3.4 billion. For the full year 2021, revenue was up 95% to $81.2 billion, EPS went from $1.63 in FY 2020 to $3.85, while net income surged from $9.1 billion to $22 billion.
The company raised its 2022 revenue guidance to a record-high range between $98 and $102 billion, with diluted EPS between $6.35 and $6.55. Revenue guidance for its COVID-19 vaccine comirnaty is raised to around $32 billion, while the COVID-19 treatment paxlovid should bring in around $22 billion.
Pfizer shares gained 1.79% after the earnings release.
