Poll: Biden's economy approval drops to 30%
Only 30% of Americans approve of how United States President Joe Biden is handling the economy, while 64% disapprove, according to an ABC News/Washington Post released on Sunday. His approval rating stood at 37%, while 48% of respondents said they approved of former President Donald Trump's performance in retrospect.
If the federal government shuts down due to a lack of funding at the end of the month, 40% of respondents would blame Biden and the Democratic Party, while 33% would blame Republicans. Only 33% of Democratic-leaning respondents want Biden to be nominated as the candidate for the next presidential election, although there is no consensus on who could replace him on the ballot, with Vice President Kamala Harris and Senator Bernie Sanders getting the most votes at 8% each. Meanwhile, 54% of Republican-leaning respondents want Trump to be nominated. The poll included 1,006 adults and has a margin of error of 3.5 percentage points.
