Pompeo: China failed world's expectations

United States State Secretary Mike Pompeo described on Tuesday the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) policies as an "authoritarian regime that was simply incapable of dealing with a crisis" and that had failed the expectations of the rest of the world with how it had handled the coronavirus pandemic.

"They're part of the World Health Organization. They had an obligation to do better," he told The Print. Pompeo went on to slam the CCP for what he labeled a violation of human rights, saying, "They rule with an iron fist. They ensure their continued political preeminence as their primary mission set inside of their country."

Pompeo has criticized China's handling of the spread of coronavirus on several occasions. More recently, he accused the CCP of knowing how "virulent the coronavirus was" and of being the "culprit for a global pandemic."
