Pope Francis: We can't turn blind eye to racism

Catholic Church head Pope Francis addressed on Wednesday the "tragic death" of George Floyd, claiming that humanity "can't turn blind eye to racism and exclusion."

Speaking at the General Audience in Vatican City, Pope urged protesters across the United States to refrain from violence, warning that "we have to recognize that the violence of recent nights is self-destructive and self-defeating."

George Floyd was killed on May 25 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, by police officer Derek Chauvin during an arrest.
