Pound jumps as Johnson presents Brexit deal to MPs

However, Johnson said in Westminster that he will take the UK out of the EU on October 31 with or without a deal while Labour Leader Jeremy Corbyn accused the prime minister of wanting a "Trump deal Brexit."

The pound hit a daily high of 1.23875 against the dollar. It traded 0.53% in the green compared to the greenback at 3:11 pm CET at 1.23648. The British currency is up 2.33% in the past month, but it remains 6.01% lower compared to six months ago.

The FTSE 100 lost 0.95% at 15:12 pm CET.
