Pound slips on fresh Brexit concerns

The British pound suffered losses as traders' concerns over Brexit deadlock grew during late trading on Friday. United Kingdom's Transport Minister Jo Johnson resigned from his post due to disagreements with Prime Minister Theresa May over Britain's withdrawal from the European Union, calling the handling of the process "a big mistake." Meanwhile, May's office issued a statement reaffirming there would be no second referendum on UK leaving the EU.

The pound lost 0.43% against the euro, to go for 1.1448 at 8:34 pm CET. Meanwhile, the British currency dropped 0.68% against the United States dollar, to sell for 1.2973 at 8:25 pm CET.
