Precious metals rise, palladium up nearly 6%
Precious metals prices continued to rise on Wednesday, following silver's rally earlier in the day. Considered hedges against inflation, the palladium added almost 6%, and by more than 13% on a monthly basis, as silver also rose more than 3%, by more than 8% in the past 30 days.
The price of gold increased by 1.46% at 12:26 pm ET to sell for $1,842.01 per ounce. At the same time, silver gained 3.75% to go for $24.20 per ounce. Platinum went up by 5.53% to be valued at $1,034.08 per ounce, while palladium jumped 5.94% to cost $2,015.76 per ounce.
