Progressive Dem leader: $1.5T reconciliation bill too small

United States House Progressive Caucus Chair Pramila Jayapal said on Sunday that the proposal to cut the reconciliation bill down from $3.5 trillion to $1.5 trillion is "not going to happen."

"That's too small to get our priorities in. It's going to be somewhere between 1.5 and 3.5, and I think the White House is working on that right now because, remember, what we want to deliver is childcare, paid leave and climate change, housing," Jayapal told CNN. Progressives have threatened not to vote in favor of a smaller bipartisan $1.2 trillion infrastructure package if the larger bill does not get enough support to be adopted.
