Psaki: Iran didn't try to resolve issues during talks

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said on Friday that the new Iranian administration did not come to the latest round of nuclear talks in Vienna with "constructive proposals" and claimed its approach was not an attempt to resolve the "remaining issues."

Psaki also accused Tehran of "new nuclear provocations" amid the negotiations and slammed the country for failing to reach an agreement with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to restore transparency and the agency's access to Iranian nuclear facilities. However, she insisted the US believes a diplomatic approach remains "the best option" to solve the issue of Iran.

The White House spokesperson also claimed that Iran's "unprecedented" nuclear build-up came as a result of previous US President Donald Trump's decision to withdraw from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
