Putin counting on West to lose focus - US lawmakers
Russian President Vladimir Putin is "counting on the West to lose focus" during the Ukraine crisis and other ongoing issues, United States Senator Chris Coons claimed on Monday at the World Economic Forum annual meeting 2022 in Davos, Switzerland.
Meanwhile, in the same discussion, Senator Patrick Leahy hailed the $40 billion congressional bill on Ukraine aid as "extraordinary" and added he is "confident" another aid bill will pass US Congress this year even as bipartisanship in the US is "diminishing."
In addition, Congressman Gregory Meeks claimed that the blockade of the Odessa port could cause a "starvation issue in Africa," while Senator Debra Fischer described the ongoing food shortage as "Putin's famine."
