Putin, Netanyahu reach agreement on Syria

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Russian President Vladimir Putin reached an understanding on the situation in Syria, Interfax reported. The two leaders agreed, over a telephone conversation, on the future of the Israeli-Syrian border and withdrawal of certain military units from it. The Israeli prime minister stated last week that he does not oppose Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's regime and that Israel will not intervene in Syria if the existing deals are followed.

Iran's military presence in Syria is allegedly not on the table in Moscow today.

Iranian official Alie Akbar Velayati pointed out last week that Iranian and Russian troops will continue their military presence in Syria "as long as necessary" in order to ensure the terrorists do not return to the war-torn country.
