Qantas to suspend all intl flights over COVID-19

Australian airline Qantas announced it and its low-cost subsidiary Jetstar will halt all international flights and cut domestic flights by 60% from late March to at least the end of May over the coronavirus pandemic.

Earlier this week, Qantas and Jetstar said they would reduce international flights by 90%. However, the airlines now decided to suspend all the remaining flights after the Australian government warned against all overseas travel from Australia.

"Regularly scheduled international flights will continue until late March to assist with repatriation and will then be suspended until at least the end of May 2020," Qantas noted and added that "essential" domestic, regional and freight connections will be "maintained as much as possible" amid the outbreak.
