Renault's revenue falls 3.3% to €55.54B in 2019

French carmaker Groupe Renault said on Friday that its revenue in 2019 amounted to €55.54 billion, declining 3.3% compared to the previous year.

The group's total sales were down by 3.4% year on year to 3.8 million units, with Africa, Middle East, India and Pacific region plummeting 19.3% and China sales sliding 17.2%. Meanwhile, operating income dropped 30% to €2.1 billion and net income plunged 99% to €19 million. Net loss Group share dived to €141 million, or €0.52 per share, marking the company;s first quarterly loss in ten years.

"Groupe Renault, despite a troubled year, has been able to achieve results in line with the revised guidance," acting CEO Clotilde Delbos stated. "Visibility for 2020 remains limited due to expected volatility in demand, notably in Europe because of the CAFE regulation and the possible impacts of the coronavirus," she added.
