Renault's revenue falls 4.8% to €12.5B in Q1

French carmaker Groupe Renault said on Friday that its revenue in the first quarter of 2019 amounted to €12.52 billion, declining 4.8% year over year and 2.7% at constant exchange rates.

The group's total sales were down by 5.6% to 908,348 vehicles in the quarter, while the global market contracted by 7.2%, the financial release noted. Renault expects the global market in 2019 to decrease about 1.6%, with the European market flat in case there is no no-deal Brexit.

France and Russia remain the carmaker's main markets with 178,057 and 111,712 units sold, respectively, followed by Germany and Italy. Sales in Europe improved slightly in the last quarter, while they declined in other regions.
