Report: Hong Kong gvt mulls pausing extradition bill

The government of Hong Kong is considering pausing the controversial extradition bill which has sparked massive protests in the territory, the South China Morning Post reported on Friday citing sources.

The report notes members of the Executive Council Dr. Lam Ching-choi and Fanny Law Fan Chiu-fun have both advocated taking a step back, while others in Hong Kong's government called for dialogue.

Meanwhile, Hong Kong is preparing for another weekend of protests over the bill. Wednesday's demonstrations brought the city to a standstill after protesters swarmed around Hong Kong's legislature.
