Report: Tesla Model 3 goals beset by delays

Tesla Inc. completed some 30,000 Model 3 sedans in 2018 and its goal of 5,000 cars per week by the end of June is hampered by delays and manufacturing problems, Business Insider reported, citing internal documents and persons familiar with the matter.

According to the report, the company made only 6,000 cars this month and automaker's CEO Elon Musk ordered a new assembly line near Tesla's Fremont factory to speed up the process. However, the so-called GA4 line produced less than 100 vehicles since assembly began in June.

Earlier, Musk sent an email to employees congratulating them on progress made in the manufacturing Model 3.
