RSF down Sudanese army MiG aircraft near capital

The Sudanese paramilitary group Rapid Support Forces (RSF) shot down a warplane belonging to Sudanese army on Sunday north of the capital city of Khartoum, just a day after the ceasefire agreement between the two parties ended.

"The aim of this enemy plane was to inflict harm upon innocent civilians and it was affiliated with both the coup forces and the remnants of the defunct regime," the RSF said in the statement.

In April, the paramilitary group seized control of the presidential palace located in the Sudan's capital, as well as three airports, including Khartoum Airport and Merowe air base.
