Russia pulls out of Ukraine grain deal

Russia's Defence Ministry on Saturday said the country decided to suspend its participation in the Black Sea Grain Initiative after accusing the United Kingdom and Ukraine of attacking its ships responsible for ensuring the security of the trade corridor.

"The Russian side suspends participation in the implementation of agreements on the export of agricultural products from Ukrainian ports," the ministry said, accusing the Kiev regime, of launching a massive drone attack on its Black Sea fleet in Crimea with the help of British "experts."

The UN-backed agreement was set to expire next month and it became unclear whether Moscow would agree to extend it after the nation complained about the shipments not being sent to low-income nations.
