Russia to resume flights with Turkey on June 22

Russia's Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova announced on Friday her country plans to resume flights with Turkey and several other countries across the world starting from June 22.

Golikova cited improved coronavirus response in Turkey as the reason behind this government's decision. Next to Turkey, Russia hopes to restart flights with the United States, Bulgaria, Belgium, Italy, Cyprus, North Macedonia, Jordan and Ireland.

Meanwhile, Russia is potentially facing its third coronavirus wave as the number of daily recorded COVID-19 cases resurged to February highs in the latest update, with the weekly average nearing 14,000.
