Russia to start sending clean oil on April 29 - official

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak (pictured) stated on Thursday that his country will start pumping clean oil as early as Monday. Speaking to reporters, the official noted that the first batch of good quality oil will arrive on the Belarus border by April 29, adding that Minsk proposed to increase the indicative balance of Russian crude to compensate for the poor oil that was delivered earlier.

"Tomorrow there will be trilateral negotiations with the participation of Poland [and Belarus], we are taking operational measures. At present, much of this oil, which is of poor quality, is pumped out in the Russian Federation," confirmed Kozak. He added: "And on April 29, clean, high-quality oil will be on the border with Belarus."

Earlier, Poland, Germany and reportedly, the Czech Republic, halted the delivery of Russian oil due to the poor quality of crude being pumped through the pipe, causing oil prices to rise with international benchmark Brent trading above $75 per barrel.
