S. Korea adds over 7,000 COVID cases for first time

The number of new COVID-19 cases as well as critically ill patients in South Korea have hit record-highs on Wednesday, according to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC). The nation reported 7,175 new daily infections, raising the total caseload to 489,484, as the number of critical patients increased to an all-time high of 840.

In the meantime, the country's coronavirus death toll jumped by 63 to reach 4,020.
