S. Korea 'analyzing' if it got US auto tariff relief - official

Because it was never directly mentioned by the United States government, South Korea is "analyzing" if it has been granted a temporary exemption from car tariffs on its cars entering the US market, Yonhap reported citing Seoul's Deputy Trade Minister Kim Yong-rae.

Kim said: "South Korea is not clearly stated as a country that can be exempted from it," but added that Seoul will contact Washington to get precise information on the matter.

The US lifted tariffs on car imports for up to six months from the European Union, Japan and "other countries."
