Sanders threatens to put hold on COVID-19 bill

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders threatened to put a hold on the COVID-19 pandemic economic relief bill unless three Republica senators take back their objections on worker rights.

Sanders said in a statement: "Unless Republican Senators drop their objections to the coronavirus legislation, I am prepared to put a hold on this bill until stronger conditions are imposed on the $500 billion corporate welfare fund to make sure that any corporation receiving financial assistance does not lay off workers, cut wages or benefits, ship jobs overseas, or pay workers povery wages."

Earlier, Republican senators, Lindsey Graham, Tim Scott, and Ben Sasse said they would oppose the bill as long as there are no guarantees that "no American would earn more by not working than by working."
