SEC Commissioner Robert Jackson steps down

Democratic Commissioner at the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Robert Jackson announced on Thursday that he is going to leave his post on February 14.

Following his term expiration in June, Jackson opted not to take advantage of a full 18-month automatic extension every commissioner can count on before being replaced by US Senate.

He served as SEC commissioner since January 2018, being picked by Democrats as an independent candidate for the position.
