SEC probes Boeing over 737 MAX disclosures - report

United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) started a probe into Boeing Co.'s divulgence of information pertaining to 737 MAX airplane to its own investors, the Financial Times reported on Friday. According to an unnamed source familiar with the matter, the investigation is currently in the early stages and may not lead to any allegations.

Boeing is working with the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to redo certification test flight and submit final certification for the troubled plane after it said it completed patching up of the 737 MAX anti-stall system.

The software update should fix the Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System (MCAS) implicated in two plane crashes which allegedly caused hundreds of fatalities.
