Sefcovic: EU won't leave UK trade talks

European Commission Vice President for Interinstitutional Relations Maros Sefcovic stated on Monday the European Union will not leave the trade negotiations with the United Kingdom despite the Internal Market Bill that London is threatening to introduce.

Sefcovic stressed the proposed changes to the Brexit Withdrawal Agreement had "created a very difficult political situation" and labeled them a "breach of trust."

Earlier in the day, British Minister for the Cabinet Office Michael Gove described the Internal Market Bill as London's "safety net" in the relations with the bloc, which previously condemned the move as a violation of international law.
