Senate votes for USMCA, sends it to Trump

The United States Senate passed the United States-Canada-Mexico Agreement (USMCA) on Thursday with 89 votes to 10. The bill will now be sent to President Donald Trump for final approval.

A majority of Republicans and Democrats supported the USMCA trade deal after long negotiations between the parties on the agreement. The trade deal is set to come into force as soon as it is signed by Trump and ratified by Canada since Mexico already took all the necessary steps to approve the changed deal in December.

The win for the USMCA comes after Trump signed the phase one trade deal with China on Wednesday.
