Sentix: Eurozone investor confidence drops in August

Euro area investor confidence fell sharply in August, coming in below the analysts' expectations, Sentix revealed in its latest monthly survey released on Monday.

The investor confidence index landed at 22.2 points compared to 29.8 points recorded in July. Meanwhile, the current situation index gained one point to reach 30.8, its highest since October 2018, while the expectations index marked its third monthly decline in a row, landing at 14.0.

"The Eurozone economy is booming, but the pace is slowing noticeably. The enormous investments of the states, supported by a persistently expansive monetary policy of the European Central Bank, are driving economic activity in the Eurozone and have prevented anything worse from happening, despite the Corona lockdowns," the report read.
