Several German workers fired after refusing vaccine

A nursing home in Germany's town of Dessau-Roslau fired seven of its employees after they refused to receive a coronavirus vaccine, Bild reported on Sunday.

According to the newspaper, the facility's head Rene Willmer urged all workers to take the jab as soon as it became available. After failing to successfully convince the ones that didn't want to commit to the decision, Willmer gave them a two-day deadline and fired them shortly after.

The federal government so far opposed compulsory vaccination based on citizen's civil liberties. However, some high-ranking officials have recently started pushing towards mandatory inoculation for all healthcare workers, such as Bavarian State Premier Markus Soeder.
